Summer Favorites: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Rose & Shine

This is the first post in my Mini Summer Series which will feature favorite products that I am loving during the Summer months. I find that as the seasons change my love for certain products grows while other products I seem to never use at all! For this post it will be all about my favorite Summer lipstick which is the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Rose & Shine (get the pun)!

First thing you notice in this lipstick is the super
sleek packaging
. Its black with a golden band round the middle
with
Revlon in Bold Black lettering!
The product consists of a light texture lipstick
that provides
good hydration and does not sit
heavily on the lips. Can be applied
sheerly for a light pinky glossy look
or the intensity of the color can be increased.
The finish for the lipstick is Pearl and the color
is
no. 619 Rose & Shine which is a gorgeous warm pink
slightly shimmery
lipstick!
A swatch of this product shows how nice, sheer and
creamy
this lipstick is and as you can see the shimmer is really minimal
Lastly, this is the product applied to my lips and then this is
transfer that I got when applied to a piece of paper! I got this idea from
iamxteeener who has just recently started blogging! As you can see
the
shimmer shows a little here too!

Do you own any of the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks? What do you think about this product?

Product Review: Essence Clear & Matt Oil Free Foundation

Today I am going to review a foundation which I have been using for quite some months now. It is the Essence Clear and Matt Oil Free Foundation.

What they claim:
Unwanted shine doesn‘t stand a chance with the oil-free clear & matt foundation! its special active ingredients absorb excess oil and give you a healthy, shine-free complexion -  all day long! vitamin e protects your skin from any impurities. dermatologist tested.

The packaging is quite compact and convenient. It holds 30ml/1fl.oz of product as most foundations and the bottle is a squeeze tube which allows for great control of the amount of product you need.

The product helps to control oil on the skin
while providing light to medium coverage I am in the shade 02 Honey and the big downside to this product is the limited amount of shades that this brand offers! There are only three shades to choose from and I was lucky to have this color match me perfectly

The product is very thin and spreads out really easily
on the skin. It is absorbed really quickly and leaves the skin matte and shine free. This is a dollop of product on my hand.

I have quite a big amount on my skin but it is
spread out a little so you can get an idea of the shadeand texture of this foundation. My recommendation is to choose this foundation ifyou have good skin but you want to even out your complexion,or if you want light coverage and maybe want to use some concealer on any blemishes that you might have.

What I think:
I love this foundation when I want a light covering of the skin without hassling too much that my foundation is blended perfectly and that it is spread evenly. This product allows you to even out your skin tone without being too heavy on the skin while providing a nice matte and shine free surface. The color selection is not the best but if you happen to fit in a shade then it is great. The product cost about €4 and I have found mine at a local pharmacy. You can check out more from this brand on their website.

Have you tried any Essence products? What do you think about this foundation?

Product Review: Constance Carroll Blusher in Dawn Glow

I have had this blusher for some time now and this has to be my most reached for and loved blusher I own! I have phases with blusher where I sometimes change my most reached for blusher but in the end I always end up going back to this blusher. This is the Constance Carroll Blusher in Dawn Glow.

The packaging is very simple and nothing special
however it is
very sturdy and has lasted for years now!
The shade is no. 8 Dawn Glow
and it is a gorgeous peachy corally shade
The blusher is really pigmented and what I usually do is
load up the brush with product then blend it on the back
of my hand and then apply to my cheeks
You also get a little brush which is fairly useless
A swatch of Dawn Glow
This blush usually last on my skin for about
six hours before starting to fade a little

What is your favorite blusher? What do you think about this color?

Product Review: BYS Quad in Green Shimmer

BYS quad review

Today I am going to review this BYS palette in Green Shimmer that I got a few weeks ago. This is a quad which has four shimmery shades, two of which have golden shimmer in them.

BYS quad review
The packaging is quiet sturdy and
it comes with a
double ended sponge applicator
which is not very good
BYS quad review
The back of the packaging has the name
of the palette which is
04 Green Shimmer
and you get 8g of product
BYS quad review
As you can see the gold shimmer on the two shadows
is not all the way through the shadows
but only on the
top layer
After a few applications the shimmer will go away
BYS quad review
The first two shades are the shadows in the
Top
layer of the palette from Left to Right
The last two shades are the shadows in the
Bottom layer of the palette from Left to Right
What I like about this palette:
Retails only for €2 for 8g of product
Has great pigmentation and the shadows are really soft and blendable
They have more palettes with different color combinations
The colors are very gorgeous and unique
The colors are not overly shimmery and very wearable

What I don't like about this palette:
The packaging looks a little cheap and very plain
The gold shimmer is just on the top

What do you think about this quad? What is your favorite palette?

Product Review: False Eyelashes by KK Center Hk

false lashes review

Today I want to share with you this set of false eyelashes that were kindly sent to me by KK Center for reviewing purposes. This company is situated in Hong Kong and specializes in selling false lashes and wigs but also offer a wide variety of makeup palettes with eye shadows and face products. They also have a wide variety of nail polish and tools and various brushes and accessories for your makeup application. You can check their website HERE

One of the items that I was sent to review is this pack of 5 false eyelashes which are all hand made in Taiwan. I love the application of these lashes as they have a really thin seam so the lashes appear very natural and blend nicely with your own lashes. They have a length of 1 cm which makes them short enough to appear natural and at the same time give your lashes the added volume you desire. You can read more information about these lashes HERE.

false lashes review
The lashes have really good volume
without being too dramatic
As can be seen the
seam is really thin so that
they blend better with your natural lashes
false lashes review
The lashes are packaged really well
attached to the plastic base so that they
retain their shape
and so that they are protected from any dirt or dust
They are very
easy to remove and apply multiple times
false lashes review
A profile view of the false lashes applied
I found that they were very
easy to apply and blend with my lashes
I loved how long and defined my lashes appeared
false lashes review
A front view of the lashes applied
not too dramatic but definitely give your eyelashes the
length and volume
they need
The
quality of the lashes is really good and
can be used
multiple times if you take good care of them

This set of false eyelashes retails for the price of $12.50 on their website and something to keep in mind if you order from this company is that they are situated in Hong Kong so the shipping time may take longer than usual if you are situated in Europe. Also their packaging system is a little lacking. The lashes came packed in a brown envelope that was closed only through the use of a thin string, meaning that it could be opened and closed by practically anyone.

What I love about these lashes:
They applied easily and blended nicely with my lashes
They gave me length and volume
They stayed looking amazing all day long
They retained their shape even after removal
They can be re-used as they are such good quality
They were easily removed with some makeup remover

KK Center can be found on Facebook, Twitter and they also have their own Blog on which this post will also be featured. Check them out and let me know what you think!

Have you tried theses eyelashes? Which false eye lash brand is your favorite?

NOTD: Elf Nail Polish in Desert Haze

elf nail polish desert haze

I am finally going to do a NOTD, this has been a long time coming! A few weeks ago I got my hands on the Elf Nail Polish in Desert Haze which is a nude color. I don't have many nail color shades that are nude and since nude is so popular at the moment I decided to give it a go!

elf nail polish desert haze
Photo taken in Natural Lighting.
I find the color looks a little washed out and it is a little more darker in person.
Still very natural color and easy to wear.
Here I have two coats of
Elf Desert Haze and an Essence High Shine Top Coat.
My nails are still getting over my
study nervous attacks so pardon
my less than perfect looking nails and cuticles.
Do you have any recommendations?

elf nail polish desert haze
I got my bottle from the Elf website for €1.70.
You get
10 ml of product.
The color is a
greyish nude color I would say,
more of a
cool nude rather than it being warm.
I love this shade and I think once I get a little more tan
it will look even better. Very wearable shade.
Be careful though cause the polish itself can get
a
little streaky if you don't two good coats.
The color lasted for
5 days without chipping which is good in my book!

Do you own any Elf nail polish shades? Which are your favorite Summer nail polishes?

Product Review: Elf Shimmer Lip Gloss Collection

elf shimmer lip glosses, elf lip gloss review, elf review

A few weeks ago I was lucky to have won the Elf Shimmer Lip Gloss Collection which contains five shimmery lip glosses varying from a golden gloss to a dark fuchsia pink. These were sent to me by the lovely Lizzie at Glam to Go and  I would love if you could go say hi! Today I will be doing a review of these lip glosses and showing the shades and the color payoff!

What I like:
You get a nice variety of colors
The shimmer in them is not chunky glitter so looks very nice on the lips
The color payoff is good

What I don't like:
The smell is a little overpowering, too sweet
The lip gloss is a little sticky

Haul: Collection 2000, La Femme and BYS

BYS, BYS eyeshadow, BYS pencil, BYS review, BYS haul, La Femme blushes, La Femme blushers

Today I want to share with you some random items I picked up recently. I went to a local shop and saw that they had some BYS items. They had these gorgeous combination of eyeshadow palettes that I decided to try them out. They are fairly inexpensive so I wanted to see how the quality of the items was. There were also some items from La Femme which I wanted to try out too.

BYS palette called 04 Green Shimmer

Two of the shadows have tiny gold shimmer dots
however this is only on the surface and
I don't think it has shimmer all the way through.
The color payoff is actually really good except the
lightest shade which can be a little chalky.

The colors are really gorgeous pink shades,
there isn't too much shimmer in them and
the
color payoff is not exceptional but not
too powdery
either.

BYS Shimmer Shine Pencil in 07 Natural
The color is a frosted pink with gold shimmers,
I haven't tested how long this product stays on
the lid and if it
creases but if you are interested I
will do a full review.

Lastly I finally got my hands on the Collection 2000 16 Hour Wear Concealer that everyone has been raving about. I got mine from eBay after many searches as it is not available here in Malta. I will do a full review once I have used it for some more time. The coverage is very good and it lasts well on the skin too.

Product Review: Sigma Round Top Synthetic F82 Brush

sigma synthetic round top brush f82

The Sigma Round Top Synthetic Kabuki F82 brush is one of my favorite Sigma brushes! I have both this and the Sigma Flat Top Kabuki F80 brush and I love them both for applying my liquid foundation with. The F82 has definitely very dense bristles and a round top style which allows for perfect blending of your foundation so that it looks seamless. I never used to use any brushes to apply my foundation but since I have tried these brushes from the SigmaX line, I definitely see what the hype was all about.

sigma synthetic round top brush f82

There are various ways to apply your foundation or liquid products, one being with brushes. If you use brushes you must have either oily or combination skin otherwise your skin will flake as these kinds of brushes tend to ex-foliate a little when applying the product. If you have dry skin a good option is definitely making use of the good old sponge to apply the foundation. I make use of sponges too sometimes, for some foundation but the brush is faster and easier for me. I like applying the foundation at the back of my hand and then taking little of the product in the brush and blending in the skin one section at a time

sigma synthetic round top brush f82

Since this brush has synthetic hair, it absorbs less product than if you use a natural hair brush or your hands. One of the problems that I got was, that I make use of the Revlon Color stay Foundation which is a very waterproof foundation and sometimes the brush remains a little stained but with two washes usually I can get the white bristles all nice and clean once more :) This brush has never shedded any bristles when I was applying the foundation, however it did shed a few hairs sometimes when I wash it. To note: I wash this brush every time I use it, as I don't like applying foundation to my skin with an already used brush since I have very acne prone skin.

I got this brush with my own money from the Sigma website for $16.00.

Do you own this brush? What do you think about it? How do you use it?
